Pszinapszis – Creative Design for Mental Health Advocacy
Weekly social media, event posters and hand-lettered merchandise for a student-led psychology group.
The brief
Pszinapszis is a student-led psychology group that shares mental health content and hosts events, from film screenings followed by discussions with renowned psychologists to more interactive activities. The design had to make complex, sometimes heavy topics feel approachable.
My role
As part of the design group, I made the weekly social media posts, printed materials for the main event (posters and armbands), and the new merchandise graphics.
Social media
Psychology on Instagram has to be gentle and easy to digest. I used a soft palette of pinks and sage green, organic blob shapes and simple hand-drawn hearts, with text on torn-paper labels, so even a long explanation feels light and friendly. Each topic, like Mother’s Day or the five love languages, runs as a short carousel with one idea per slide.
My posts reached many more people than before and were liked by over 3,000 people.

P/SZIMBIÓZIS
The group’s main event of the year brings workshops, lectures, discussions and even a yoga session. Our team set a shared style, and then each of us took a part. I designed the prints: posters and armbands.
The theme was harmony: “Összhangban a világgal” and “Összhangban másokkal” (in harmony with the world, and with others). So the posters are built like a puzzle: bold black geometric shapes fitted tightly together, with a few bright flowers, stars and hearts breaking through. Each tagline got its own colourway, cream and electric blue.
Merch
Participants can always take home some merch as a keepsake. This year I designed the new graphics. The goal was something fun that isn’t obviously psychology-themed, so I went for hand lettering surrounded by folk-inspired flowers on a slate blue background.
The three designs work as a little conversation:
T-shirts, sweaters and tote bags
The merch and event branding sold more merchandise than in previous years.
Reflection
Pszinapszis was a different kind of experience: fewer boundaries than in a company, and a lot of creative energy from the group. It let me try illustration and hand lettering, and connect my design work with my interest in psychology.
