Calendar 2021
A quiet, nature-inspired calendar: soft, painterly illustrations of mountains, leaves, sun and water, one for every month.
The brief
A wall calendar that feels calm on the wall: each month is a small illustration of nature in that season, with a light date grid underneath.
My role
I drew all twelve illustrations, hand-lettered the month names, and designed the date grid and layout.
Twelve months
Each illustration is reduced to a single subject (layered mountain peaks for January, a glowing sun for July, leaves, waves and hills for other months) painted in soft, layered colour. The month names are hand-written in a light script, and the date grid stays thin and quiet, so the illustration always leads.
January to December
Reflection
Compared with the bold geometry of my 2022 calendar, this one is all about texture and softness. Designing both showed me how much a single change of illustration style changes the whole mood of the same object.
